NMAI Safety Seminar, to be run in the Bridge House Hotel in Tullamore, Co.Offaly. The presentations begin at 18:00 hrs with an IAA presentation to 19:30hrs and a break then for finger food. It is then followed by the CAA safety seminar at 20:00hrs. Tickets are 10 euro each & are available HERE. |

| 1st - 3rd | Flight of the Earls" now an annual NMAI pilgrimage to the Popham Microlight fly-in. This is the biggest Microlight trade show in the UK & we plan to have a group to fly over, we depart on the Friday morning as a group from Kernan airfield in Armagh, where we congregate, cross over to Glassonby, south of Carlisle to refuel and overnight at pound green in Hampshire arriving in Popham sometime on Saturday morning among all the other arrivals. Camping is mandatory Departing on Sunday for home. Come on !! be part of it. Details HERE. |

BBQ & fly-in at the airfield on the Saturday and if you came on the 22nd you could fly around some of the local airfields Saturday morning and afternoon before the BBQ commences. National Microlight association of Ireland big fly-in and aviation weekend. This will be without doubt the biggest fly-in in Ireland in 2009. The venue is Clonbollogue airfield. Fun competition element's throughout the weekend with a big fundraiser on Saturday night for charity. Full BBQ/bar & music on the Saturday night also. Each aircraft attending MUST bring a teddy-bear that will be auctioned on the night for charity, all funds raised will be donated to a very worth-while charity, that is the Bernardo's Children's appeal. |
| 12th - 14th | Spamfield, Sandown on the Isle of Wight. This is the UK's biggest gathering of Microlights. Probably the last ever year to be held at Sandown airfield. All money raised is for the Kerry Green trust. Full details with on-site registration available HERE. |

On July 25th 1909 Loius Bleriot became the first person to fly across the English Channel. He claimed the prize of £1,000 offered by the Daily Mail. The flight took 37 minutes. Bleriot took off from Les Barraques France. On Saturday July 25th 2009 the plan is for a mass Microlight crossing over the Channel from England to France to mark Louis Bleriot 100th Anniversary. 087 1234546. The airfield is north of Tralee town, 400m Grass Strip 33/15. Runway 15 is slightly uphill, the co-ordinates are 52.20.75N - 009.45.70W Frequency for the day is 121.75 BBQ is around 2pm and there is an Aerobatics display that evening. An informal get together at night, few pints etc in the Rustic Inn for all revellers, local & visiting. Dave Bruton will be displaying in the Sukhoi. Longford Aviation have kindly waived landing fees for both days. We will be holding a raffle on the day with lots of prizes with the draw being held in the Rustic in the evening. Everyone welcome. |

has just been completed on a strip at Bonniconlon, 5nm east of
Ballina Co.Mayo. A Fly-in is organised for this coming Sunday
the 27th Sept and all are welcome from 12 noon. The strip is
280m and is 15-33, co ordinates are 54 05.68N 9 02.067W with a slight rise up to the 33 end. I was in it at the weekend and is fine. I can be contacted on 087 2353790 for details. |
